PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vessel of a foamed sheet of a polystyrene-based resin hardly eluting styrene dimer or styrene trimer into a soup of a cup noodle, further to obtain the foamed sheet of the polystyrene-based resin and the polystyrene-based resin suitable therefor. SOLUTION: The vessel of a foamed sheet of a polystyrene-based resin and the foamed sheet of the polystyrene-based resin have <=500 ppm styrene dimer and styrene trimer content. A stabilizer can be added to the polystyrene-based resin. The polystyrene-based resin has <=40 ppm content of the styrene dimer and the styrene trimer. A suspension polymerization is carried out at the polymerization temperature of <=90 deg.C, and a post-polymerization of the product is carried out to provide the objective polystyrene-based resin.
