A composition for treating fibres, especially nylon fibres, to impart lubricity and antistatic properties comprises an aqueous emulsion containing from 5 to 30% non-aqueous constituents, said constituents comprising from 20 to 80% by weight of an ester obtained by reaction of an aliphatic monobasic acid containing from 10 to 22 carbon atoms and an acyclic monohydric alcohol having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and from 80 to 15,5% of an adduct formed from one mol. of an aliphatic monohydric alcohol having from 14 to 22 carbon atoms with 5 to 20 mols. of ethylene oxide.
