PROTECTING DEVICE HAVING ALARMING FUNCTION

PURPOSE: A protecting device having alarming function is provided to offer a quick service about a communication error by displaying alarm when an over current limiting device is operated due to an over current so that a telephone office detects the communication error in advance of a user. CONSTITUTION: A communication line is comprised of a tip line(100) and ring line(200). An over voltage limiting device(300) connects the tip line(100) and ring line(200) of the communication line. An over current limiting device(400a) is provided between the tip line(100) and ring line(200) thereof. An alarming device(500), an LED, is connected between the over voltage limiting device(300) and over current limiting device(400a). The over voltage limiting device(300) corresponds to a discharge tube, and over current limiting device(400a) corresponds to a positive temperature coefficient which operates when an over current is applied. A resistor(600) reduces a current applied via a bimetal coupled to the over current limiting device(400a). The alarming device(500) operates if the reduced current is inputted thereto.
