THE APPLICATION OF N-VINYLPYRROLIDONE AND MALEIC ANHYDRIDE COPOLYMERS AS ADJUVANTS IN THE CASTRATION OF ANIMALS

The preparation are used in animal husbandry for painless castration of young animals as a result of which the quality of their meat improves. Castration consists on threefold inoculation with an interval of four days between the inoculation of the young animals being at suitable age for castration (i.e. calves at 40 2 days). The inoculation solution contains equal volumes of homogenate of natural testicular antigen with protein content of 50 mg/ml and physiological solution with pH 7.0 including 2 wt.% of copolymers of N-vinylpyrrolidone and maleic anhydride, as well as of compounds of these copolymers with hydrogen sulphide groups. 3 claims
