发明名称 HUE COMPENSATING PLATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a hue compensating plate with little changes in hues by the viewing angle and to obtain a liquid crystal display device having an excellent viewing angle and luminance while keeping good visibility including the hue. SOLUTION: The hue compensating plate 4 consists at least of a phase difference plate 41 using a discotic liquid crystal and a polarized light separating layer 44 which divides natural light into polarized transmitted light and polarized reflected light. The liquid crystal display device has the hue compensating plate 4 described above on one surface of a liquid crystal display device 3. By this configuration, the phase difference plate 41 and the polarized light separating layer 44 which constitute the hue compensating plate 4 compensate each other changes in hues caused by changes in the visual angle. Thus, the obtd. liquid crystal display device causes little leakage of light in black display and little changes in hues in white display caused by changes of the viewing angle, and therefore, the device is excellent in the viewing angle and luminance with good visibility for both of black and white display.
