PURPOSE: A freezing refrigerator is provided to improve the running efficiency of a compressor by mounting coolers for both refrigerating and freezing chambers. CONSTITUTION: Coolers(10,14) for refrigerating and freezing chambers(4,5) are arranged in a body(1) of a refrigerator. A control unit makes a refrigerant passing a compressor(17) and a condenser(18) fed only to the cooler(14) for the freezing chamber when cooling the freezing chamber and fed to the cooler(10) for the refrigerating chamber when cooling the refrigerating chamber. Also, the control unit makes the temperature in the freezing chamber lower than the lowest limit temperature when cooling the freezing chamber and stops the compressor if the temperature in the refrigerating chamber is lower than the upper limit temperature. On the contrary, the control unit makes the temperature in the refrigerating chamber lower than the lowest limit temperature when cooling the refrigerating chamber and stops the compressor if the temperature in the freezing chamber is lower than the upper limit temperature.
