PORTABLE OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE: A portable optical pickup device using a flat lens having a ladder type diffractive lattice structure is provided to record information on the CD family recording media including CD-RW(Compact Disc Rewritable) and the DVD, and to regenerate the recorded information. CONSTITUTION: A first light source(111) projects a first light(I) used to record information on an optical disk(100a) and to regenerate the information. A second light source(21) projects a second light(II) used to record information on an optical disk(100b) and to regenerate the information. A light path conversion means converting the proceeding path of the incident light comprises a first beam splitter(113) and a second beam splitter(131). An object lens(137) focuses the incident light to form light spot on the optical disk(100). A diffractive optical means comprises a ladder type flat lens(135) arranged on the light path between the light path conversion means and the object lens(137). A monitoring detector(143) detects the output of the lights illuminated from the first and the second light source(111,121).
