<p>A discharge is generated by applying a pulse voltage between a work and a green compact electrode produced by compacting a powdery material containing powder of a metal carbide, e.g., WC, TiC, TaC, ZrC, SiC or VC, a nitride, e.g., TiN or ZrN, or a boride, e.g., TiB2 or ZrB2 in a working fluid, e.g., water. The electrode wear fused substance of the green compact electrode is deposited on the surface of the work and a hard coating of the electrode material is formed on the surface of the work.</p> |
