PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus capable of removing even a thin filter cake certainly and rapidly by simple constitution without damaging filter cloth. SOLUTION: A horizontal peel-off rods 5 inserted in and arranged to the gap between a filter plate 1 and a filter cloth 2 and tensioning rods 6 arranged to the surface side of the filter cloth 2 under the peel-off rod 5 in parallel to the rod 5 to press and clamp the filter cloth 2 to the filter plate 1 are connected to links 9 provided to the lower ends of lift rods 3 in a shakable manner, and a lift device raising and lowering the lift rods 3 is provided and horizontal recessed step zones 17 are provided to the lower end part of the filter plate 1 and the peel-off rods 5 and tensioning rods 6 are housed and arranged in recessed step zones 17 at the falling end position of the lift rods 3 to be prevented from protruding at a time of the closing of the filter plate to generate a gap.
