PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in assembling and to facilitate maintenance such as oiling or the like. SOLUTION: This chair includes a rocking device 6 so constructed that an oscillating member 4 as a member to be supported is supported on a seat bearing member 2 as a support member to oscillate about one turning shaft 3, and the oscillating member 4 is energized toward the initial position by a reaction force applying mechanism 5, two ends of which are respectively connected to the seat bearing member 2 and the oscillating member 4. In this case, a temporary set-up part 24 where a rear spring mount 12 which is one end part of the reaction force applying mechanism 5 is engaged to be set up is formed on the seat bearing member 2 to which a front spring mount 11 which is the other end part of the reaction force applying mechanism 5 is connected. A cover part 61 for covering the internal mechanism is provided with a maintenance hole 62 formed by a through hole.
