PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep rice without heating it for keeping it warm, heat it by microwaves when eaten, and heat it by microwaves for sterilizing it once in every several hours for preventing it from being rotten while it is kept. SOLUTION: A microwave heater 15 is provided, microwave heating is intermittently applied to boiled rice in an inner pot 1, microwave heating stopped time is changed to be shorter as elapsed time after boiling becomes longer, and the microwave heating stopped time is changed to be shorter as an atmospheric temperature becomes higher. An electrodeless UV-lamp 22 is provided to sterilize the inside of the inner pot 1 by radiating UV-ray to the inner pot 1 in heating rice by microwaves.
