The tool is a short metal cylinder (1) with an internal blade (3) made by punching up a triangular section of the tube. When a sausage is fed through the channel (2), the angled edge of the blade (3) makes a single longitudinal groove in the sausage. The groove can then be filled with mustard or sauce. Other versions of the tool have handles or can be clamped to a work surface.
