FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: shock absorber of drilling string can be used in drilling of bore-holes. Shock absorber of drilling string has resilient member in the form of cylindrical body with lateral slots located in staggered order over height of cylindrical body. There is also second resilient member in the form of corrugated shell with radial corrugations. Corrugated shell is located coaxially with cylindrical body in internal space of body at certain radial clearance. Corrugated shell is rigidly secured relative to cylindrical body by means of two sleeves. Aforesaid arrangement of components ensures following separation of functions: cylindrical body performs function of resilient member and ensures transmission of torque to drilling bit, it also protects corrugated shell from coming in contact with walls of bore-hole, it also limits axial deformations. Corrugated shell besides its function of resilient member ensures isolation of internal space from annular space, it also ensures effective conversion of surplus pressure into axial force directed towards work face of bore-hole bottom. This increases thrust brought to bear on drilling bit for saving weighted drilling pipes and this allows for reducing longitudinal dimension of shock absorber which operates not only for compression but also for tension, thus forcing drilling bit to continuous interaction with work face of bore-hole bottom. Application of embodiment of drilling string allows for prolonging service life of drilling equipment, increasing mechanical drilling speed, adding to specific drilling depth per drilling bit together with increasing overall drilling capacity.
