摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain such an image forming method using a ferroelectric material that can perform electrification, image exposure and development in a bright room, can write or erase an image any time, can stably preserve a latent image for a long time in a bright room, can make the contrast on the surface potential during toner development the difference of the potentials between different polarities for toner development, and that uses a ferroelectric which is high in mechanical strength, of which surface is hardly damaged by development with a toner, and which can form plural toner images by one writing-in of a latent image. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes the following processes. (1) A ferroelectric device having a ferroelectric layer consisting of an inorg. oxide ferroelectric material and a resin having >=4 specific dielectric constant on a conductive supporting body is used, and the dipoles of the ferroelectric material in the ferroelectric layer are aligned in one direction. (2) Dipoles in the image part or nonimage part are inverted. (3) The ferroelectric layer is uniformly heated to a temp. lower than the Curie temp. and then cooled to develop an electrostatic latent image. (4) The electrostatic latent image is developed with a toner.</p>
