A vertically operated slatted blind such as a Venetian blind incorporates lifting tapes of polyester or polyamide fixed at one end to the bottom rail of the blind and at the other end fixed for winding upon a rotary member controlling raising and lowering of the blind. The tapes may have a damage- or wear-resistant coating as well as a metallized colour coating. An ultra violet ray filter medium may be incorporated in protective coating or as a separate coating or be incorporated in the plastic material. The tape may be reinforced by a core of filements, wires or thin woven straps, and incorporated during extension of the tapes. |
