PURPOSE: An infrared video device is provided to output an image only by a horizontal scanning by using a detector a valid vertical line thereof is more than 480 for covering the vertical scanning. CONSTITUTION: An infrared rays optical unit(100) senses infrared rays offered from an object to be outputted as an image. A reflection unit(105) biases the image of the object. A horizontal scanning unit(110) scans the image in the horizontal direction. A detecting unit(115) comprises pixels capable of covering a vertical line of the infrared rays signal of the image of the object, and detects an electrical analogue signal in accordance with the size of the infrared rays signal. An amplifying unit(120) amplifies the electrical analogue signal. An analogue-digital converter(125) converts the electrical analogue signal into a digital signal. A multiplexer(130) passes the digital signal selectively in accordance with a system timing control signal. A digital-analogue converter(135) converts the digital signal into an analogue image signal. A video signal processor(140) extracts only a video signal out of the analogue image signal. A display unit(145) displays the video signal on a screen.
