PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To composite picture data by the different number of data bits by copying the prescribed number of bit values in first picture data with the small number of data bits, converting data and compositing first picture data which are data converted with second picture data. SOLUTION: Picture data different in the number of data bits, which are inputted from an input device 1, are individually stored in storage device M1-Mn. Four picture element values are stored in the storage device M1 as first picture data of four bits and eighteen picture element values are stored in the storage device M2 as second picture data of eight bits. It is assumed that four picture element values in second picture data are required to be substituted for first picture data. A synthesis device 2 copies the respective picture element values of first picture data and connects them. Since first picture data apparently has eight data bits, it can be comparited with second picture data. |
