PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continuously recording even when recording regions are used up by constituting recordable regions to be expandable by reproducing, recompressing and rerecording recording signals on a disk, compressing and recording the signals again. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 16 reproduces a prescribed region of the disk 1 by a pickup 2 and regenerative signals are supplied to a data processor 8 via a reproducing amplifier 3 and ECC/DEC 5. The regenerative data are subjected to a recompression processing by the data processor 8 and are supplied to the pickup 2 again via the ECC/DEC 5 and a recording amplifier 4. The microcomputer 16 controls a servo part 7 and the recompressed signals are recorded again in a regenerative region by the pickup 2. Recording rate of 10 Mbit/s at this time is changed to 5 Mbit/s at the time of recompression- recording. That is, vacant regions can be produced on the disk 1 by recompression-recording. Even when the vacant region on the disk is used up, recording can be done in the produced vacant regions and thereby recording time can be prolonged and the utilization efficiency of the disk 1 can be improved too. |
