摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide cathode providing sufficient and uniform electron emission from a cathode surface and capable of suppressing of moire, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: Polymethyl methacrylate particles 3 to be pyrolytically decomposed at a temperature lower than that in the case of carbonate particles 2 are mixed into the suspension of the carbonate particles at the volume ratio of 10-150% to the carbonate particle 2, and they are stirred. Then, the carbonate particles suspension is applied to the surface of a cathode base metal 1 by spraying, to form a carbonate applied layer. Here, the volume average diameter of the polymethyl methacrylate particle is set to be 1-10μm, and the maximum particle size is set to be not more than 20μm, thereby voids of appropriate sizes are formed in the carbonate applied layer after heat treatment, and carbon dioxide generated when the carbonate particles are transformed into an oxide is discharged smoothly, further the degree of flatness of the carbonate applied layer becomes to be not more than 10μm, thus the oxide cathode capable of suppressing occurrence of moire and providing sufficient and uniform electron emission can be manufactured.</p>
