PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an observation optical system and an observation device using the same capable of observing an excellent object image by correcting image blur caused by hand shake in binoculars and a telescope. SOLUTION: In this observation optical system where the object image formed by an objective lens 101 is formed as an erect normal image through an image inversion means 103 so as to be observed by an ocular; the lens 101 is provided with three lens groups, that is, a 1st lens group having positive refractive power, a 2nd lens group having negative refractive power and a 3rd lens group having the positive refractive power in order from an object side, and the observation optical system satisfiesΔS=(1-1/M)fobj.tan W assuming that the focal distance of the lens 101 is (fobj) and the magnification of the observation optical system is M when the variationΔS of the position of the object image formed by the lens 101 caused when the observation optical system is tilted by W is corrected by moving at least one lens group constituting the lens 101 in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis.
