PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain sufficient stability of potential and to reliably avoid a problem of convergence by covering a tube-shaped glass inner surface of a neck part and forming a conductive thin film having conductivity higher than that of the glass front surface so that it may abut on the end of a carbon film. SOLUTION: A conductive thin film 23 made of a material having conductivity higher than that of the glass front surface is formed on the inner surface of a tube-shaped glass of a neck part mounted with an electron gun so as to abut on a neck carbon film 21 of the neck inner wall conducting to a high- pressure anode. The conductive thin film 23 is made of a coating material having high conductivity, the sheet resistively is set in the range of 1×109 to 8×1012Ω/(square), and SiO2-SnO2-Sb2O3, SiO2-Cr2O3, SiO2-SnO2-Sb2O3-Cr2O3 or the like are used as the coating material. The thickness of the conductive thin film 23 is set to 1μm or less to provide such film strength as to prevent flaws or cracks in inserting of the electron gun. Therefore, the conductive thin film can withstand the sliding movement in inserting of the electron gun to the neck, and the damage of the neck can be eliminated.
