PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently improve the linearity of the horizontal direction of a displayed picture even when a horizontal deflection frequency is low. SOLUTION: When the horizontal deflection frequency fh is low, a horizontal position control circuit 1 delays the timing of a horizontal deflection current (i) based on a horizontal position control signal CH from a microcomputer 10 to move a picture displaying area in the left direction of a screen. A DC superimposing circuit 11 superimposes DC id to the current (i) flowing through a horizontal deflection coil 41 based on the DC control signal CI from the microcomputer 10 to move a horizontal scanning range to the right direction of the screen (cancel moving of the picture displaying area). Thus, the distortion of the horizontal direction of the displayed picture is sufficiently reduced.
