PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally processable element having a low surface friction. SOLUTION: This thermally processable image forming element consists of (1) a supporting body, (2) at least one thermographic or photothermographic image forming layer applied on the supporting body and (3) a surface coating film containing a film-forming binder which covers at least one major surface of the element. A friction reducing compd. expressed by the formula (R1)4-y- Si-(OR2)y is confined to the surface coating film. In the formula, R1 is a 8-32C satd. hydrocarbon group, R2 is a 1-4C alkyl group, and Y is an integer of 1 to 3. |
