PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the setting of a reference position of a measuring piece placed at one end of a long distance. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a displacement sensor 10 measuring small displacement by way of the displacement of a measuring piece 10a, sensor support members 12 and 18 supporting the displacement sensor 10 so as to hold the piece 10a at the position with specific distance L from a specific position O. Also the device has a reference surface 24c fixed freely rotatably to the sensor support member 12 and setting the reference position by contacting the piece 10a of the displacement sensor 10 and is provided with a reference position setting member 24 arranged so that the reference surface 24c isolates from the piece 10a by rotating when reference position setting is not done.
