IDENTIFICATION PRINTING METHOD FOR OPTICAL FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve printing on a coating face at the time of printing an identification symbol onto a communication wire through irradiation with laser light of specified wavelength by employing a black non-flame retardant thermoplastic resin as a print object and irradiating a silver coating formed on a print face with laser light. SOLUTION: At the time of printing an identification symbol onto communication wires of the local wiring in a distributing board at a central office or printing an identification symbol of optical fiber onto the identification tag of a communication wire through irradiation with laser light (wavelength: 400-1100 nm), a black non-flame retardant thermoplastic resin is employed as a print object (basic material for printing) 1 and a silver coating 2 is formed on a print face thereof light. When the silver coating face 2 is irradiation with laser light for printing, the laser light is not reflected on the irradiated print face but absorbed well into the irradiated print face and the silver coating sublimates at a point irradiated with laser light to expose the black face of the basic material 1.
