<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the deformation of the crest part of a filter medium and also a turbulence in the air current and improve the wind velocity distribution and further, prevent the filter medium from being damaged at the crest part by making spacers attached to the surface of the filter medium folded in a zigzag fashion discontinuous at least, at the folded part of the filter medium. SOLUTION: A filter medium 1 is drawn out of a roll 11, then is folded in a zigzag fashion at a folding part 12 and is heated by a heating part 13. In addition, the folded filter medium l is once developed at a development part 14 and a molten spacer material is linearly spewed out of a nozzle 16 by a spacer application part 15 to arrange spacers in a specified pattern. Further the filter medium 1 on which the spacer material is applied, is again folded in a zigzag fashion at a rising part 17 and thus the mini-pleats air filter pack is manufactured. After that, the spacers are attached to both first and second surfaces of the filter medium 1. However, no spacers are attached to the crest part and the valley part of the fold but these parts are formed discontinuously. This discontinuous part is not particularly defined, provided, however, that the crest part is neither of an obtuse angle nor is deformed.</p> |
