PURPOSE: An outdoor unit of an air conditioner is provided to improve the appearance of an air conditioner as well as to prevent heatproof pins from being damaged by external hazardous elements by installing plural suction blades to a suction grill. CONSTITUTION: An outdoor unit of an air conditioner is composed to vary the area of an air inlet(34) in an air suction grill(30) installed on a rear cover to protect heatproof pins of an inner heat exchanger from external hazardous elements. Plural suction blades(40) are installed on the side of the air inlet(34) to be opened and closed. The exposure of a heat exchanger(8) is controlled by changing the open area of the air inlet through the open and close of the suction blades. The heat exchanger is not exposed to outside by blocking the air inlet with the suction blades when the air conditioner is not acted. The elements for changing the area of the air inlet by changing the angle of the suction blade are consisted of the air suction grill(30), plural suction blades(40), a stepping motor(60) revolving a link(62) and a blade rod(50) for opening and closing the suction blade by converting the rotation of the stepping motor into the rectilinear movement. |
