The plug connector has a contact part (14) electrically connected to an ignition coil (12) on one side and on the other side for connection to an ignition plug connector (34). The connector system includes a flexible electrical insulator (16) that forms an outer sleeve (28) for the plug connector and encloses the contact part. A framework part (17) stiffens the insulator over at least part of its length. The contact part is a flexible wire spring and is protected against bending by the framework part except for a contact section (23).
