PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electronic equipment which has sufficient strength even when the device is made thin as a display unit module is made thin by making the end part of the top surface of a main body housing lower by one step and making the shape of the surface of a display unit housing facing the top surface of the main body housing similar to the shape of the top surface of the main body housing. SOLUTION: This equipment is composed of the main body housing 1 and the display unit housing 3 which has its one end pivotally supported on a rotary shaft at the back part of the main body housing 1. The main body housing 1 comprises an upper cabinet part 4 and a lower cabinet part 5. In the bottom surface of the lower cabinet part 5, a recessed part 11 where the left surface side of the main body housing 1 is opened is formed and the top surface of this recessed part 11 supports the other end of a CD-ROM drive. And, a step 30 is so formed that the right and left end and tip part of the top surface of the upper cabinet part 4 are lower by one step at the end sides. The surface of the display unit housing 3 which faces the top surface of the upper cabinet part 4 is made thicker at the right and left ends and upper end to be similar to the top surface shape of the upper cabinet part 4.
