PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging substrate which allows receptacle type packaging of intricate optical devices with simple stages. SOLUTION: This packaging substrate comprises a connector housing part 1 having a fitting mechanism to be fitted to an MU connector and an aligning substrate part 2 for optical parts. A recessed part 5 for mounting the optical parts is formed in this substrate part 2. The end of this recessed part 5 is provided with a ferrule guide 6. Namely, the packaging substrate for the optical parts constituting the optical parts, to and from which the optical fiber connector is attachable and detachable, is so constituted that the ferrule of the optical fiber connector comes into direct contact with the input and output portion of the optical module parts mounted on the packaging substrate via a receptacle structure disposed on the packaging substrate. The optical module parts 3 are end-sealed by a resin. The packaging substrate for the optical parts otherwise is otherwise so formed that the fitting part for the ferrule part and the connector housing are formed on the substrate side and that the operation connection is executed in the existing connector housing. The ferrule end is otherwise provided with a fiber extra length which is coupled to the input and output part of the optical parts. In such a case, the existing connector housing structure is utilized as to the coupling form the connector.
