<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint that can prevent a driven shaft from keeping on rotating under its inertia of mass remaining after the joint is disconnected. SOLUTION: A spring clutch joint of an electromagnetically coupled type includes, in addition to a joint spring 8 acting between a drive shaft 3 and a driven shaft 4, a brake spring 14 taking the form of a coil spring round the driven shaft 4. When a control magnet 11 is energized, the brake spring 14 releases the brake and the joint spring 8 couples the joint at the same time. When the control magnet 11 is de-energized, the joint spring 8 disconnects the joint and the brake spring 14 brakes the driven shaft 4 at the same time to check further movement thereof in the driving direction.</p> |
