PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable equipment to design adapted to the taste of a user and to attain improvement in operability by holding a scanner on the main body of facsimile by energizing an elastic body, locking it and canceling the scanner from the lock state against the energization of the elastic body. SOLUTION: A locking 1 on a main body F of facsimile is fitted into a #1 recessed part of a scanner S and locks the scanner S. A locking pawl 3 is energized by a spring, fitted into a #2 recessed part 5 of the scanner S, holds the #2 recessed part 5, locks it and holds the scanner S at a prescribed position on the main body F of facsimile. By depressing a cancel button 7 on a panel 6 of the main body F of facsimile, a right end 10R of a cancel lever 10 held on an upper cover 8 and a lever-supporting plate 9 is lowered. Thus, the cancel lever 10 is rotated with a rotation center 10C as the center, a left end 10L is protruded from the upper cover 8 and a bottom 11 of the scanner S is lifted. Then, the lock pawl 3 is detached.
