PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device, a video/sound data processor and a video/ sound control method capable of managing video/sound data recorded on a disk medium without using any complicated management function. SOLUTION: These disk device, video/sound data processor and video/sound control method are constituted so that a recording and reproducing means performs the recording and reproducing of data in the order of addresses on a disk medium and a recording area managing means manages and updates recording starting address information of leading video/sound frame data of recorded video/sound data, recording starting address information of final video/ sound frame data of the recorded video/sound data and leading address information of an unrecorded area on the disk medium to record them in prescribed areas on the disk medium.
