PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image compositing apparatus which can display the superimposed characters, etc., of the word telop of a karaoke machine. SOLUTION: A compositing rate G is calculated through multiplication of a fade gain A and a semitransparent gain M as G=A*M. The gain A can be set in 63 steps and changed only in every frame, and the gain M can be set in 7 steps and changed in every dot. In a fade-in/fade-out mode where the density is gradually changed in every frame, the gain A is changed and the per-dot density control, which eliminates the character notches, etc., is carried out by the change of the gain M. |
