PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear projection type display device permitting to be easily made thinner by reducing the depth of the display at the time of housing the rear projection type display device. SOLUTION: This rear projection type display device is structured so that an angle between a reflection mirror 4 and a diffusion screen 5 approaches to be in parallel as a cabinet 6 for housing an optical system is being decreased in the depth, and allowed to be easily made thinner by only pushing the display in the direction of making the front frame 61 approach to the rear frame 62 and reducing the depth of the device.
