摘要 PURPOSE:To mount a fine optical element array consisting of low melting point (MP) glass and prevented from generating thermal deformation or peeling off on a transparent glass substrate with a high MP by executing hot press molding by means of plural press molding metal molds coated with chemically stabled thin films. CONSTITUTION:The plane press molding metal mold 5, the transparent glass substrate 3, the spheroidal low MP glass 4 and the press molding metal molds 1 forming concave microlens shapes on its surface are successively set up from the uppermost layer and the hot press molding of these layers is executed in a molding machine to obtain a fine optical element forming a convex lens array on the substrate 3. The radius of curvature of the array 7 is determined so that light is focused on a transparent electrode 9 constituting a picture element and incident light 16 passing the array 7 is concentrated upon the electrode 9 to be an aperture part, then penetrates a common electrode 12 and the transparent glass substrate 11. Consequently, the aperture rate of each picture element is practically increased and the optical element consisting of the highly accurate fine optical element array capable of securing a bright screen and a display element using the optical element can be mass-produced.
