PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump having a fixed suction amount and a feed amount. SOLUTION: This method, performing suction/delivery of a fluid in a pipeline, includes using of a pump having a fluid pump conveying unit performing at least two alternate operations on the pipeline. Each pump conveying unit PU1, PU2 includes a cylinder 2 and a piston 1 which can be alternately displaced in the cylinder by action of a starting means M controlled by a control device PC. In a manner obtaining a first operation mode substantially corresponding to a fixed suction amount or discharge amount, relating to both the pistons, displacement laws (f(t), g(t)) properly shifting a phase relating to each other are assigned. This pump, by placing the direction of displacement of the piston in the reverse direction so as to apply displacement laws (-f(t)), -g(t)) symmetrical to the displacement laws corresponding to the first operation mode, is operated in the same circuit in accordance with an operation mode complementary to the first operation mode.
