PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for processing a video picture to compensate an error contour effect is provided, which processes a video picture to compensate an error contour effect. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for processing a video picture to compensate an error contour effect comprises: a moving estimator (12) for computing a moving vector (V) to pixel blocks (B1, B2) of a video frame; a plurality of look-up tables (14) for transmitting a different moving vector and a different pixel value, having a digital cord word suitable for increasing a picture quality for the pixel; and a matrix display, especially a plasma or DMD display. Thereby, it is possible to embody the apparatus with a low cost.
