Biaxially oriented polypropylene film, process for its manufacture and use thereof

Biaxially oriented, single or multi-layer polypropylene (PP) film with a base layer (B) containing ≥ 80 wt.% thermoplastic PP, plus internal and/or inert particles shows a planar orientation ( DELTA p) 0.0138. An Independent claim is also included for the production of the film by (co)extrusion of PP melt (for the base layer and any outer layers) onto a cooling roller and then processing the film by biaxial stretching and heat fixing to give a DELTA p 0.0138.
