Rows of seats, e.g. in public places, are joined to a support (6) with a joint having a vertical axis (11) which allows the angle of the seats to be chosen freely and then fixed. Preferably, the joint includes a support column (12) on a suitable surface (7), which is attached to a row of seats, and a support housing (18), attached to a second row of seats. When the seats have been arranged at the required angle to one another, they can be fixed in position by a clamping device (32) on the support column. |
