PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new protein from fission yeast which contains a specific amino acid sequence and is essential to the proliferation of fission yeast S chizosaccharomyces pombe and useful in the screening or the like of compounds having antifungal, anticancer, immunosuppresive or antiinflammatory activity. SOLUTION: This protein is a new protein from fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe which is composed of the protein containing the amino acid sequence from Met in the 1-position of the formula to Tyr in the 417-position, the protein containing the amino acid sequence in which one or plural amino acids are deleted, substituted, inserted or added to the above amino acid sequence or the protein containing their peptide fragments. The inhibitor of this protein or the combined substance is expected to have anticancer, immunosuppresive or antiinflammatory activity and useful in the scleening or the like of compounds having antifungal, anticancer, immunosuppresive or antiinflammatory activity. This protein is obtained by expression of the gene obtained from the gene bank of the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe wild-type strain. |
