PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of a skin comprising hydrolytic high polymer material to compose an insertion part flexible tube of an endoscope by steam of an autoclave sterilization even when the sterilization in the autoclave is conducted, or especially when the sterilization in the autoclave is conducted as the inside of the endoscope is communicated with the outside. SOLUTION: High polymer material is used as a skin of a flexible tube 10 of an insertion portion 2 of an endoscope, and a gas barrier layer having gas barrier performance is provided on both surfaces on the outer circumferential surface side and the inner circumferential surface side of the skin of the flexible tube 10. When high-temperature and high-pressure steam sterilization is conducted, therefore, high-temperature and high-pressure steam is blocked by the gas barrier layer provided on the inner circumferential surface side and the outer circumferential surface side of the skin composing the insertion portion flexible tube 10. so steam attacking hydrolytic high polymer material composing the skin is reduced, thereby deterioration of the skin by hydrolysis can be prevented.
