Each selector jack 1, Fig. 1, positioned beneath an intermediate jack 10 to raise a needle 11 into an operative position is provided with a group of butts 3 which are selectively engaged by slider cam member 15 Fig. 2 which press the jack into an inoperative position whereby a tail butt 2 fails to engage a lifting cam 12a. The jack 1 is also provided with a series of butts 4 which are engaged selectively by selector slider cams 20 to raise the jack and the corresponding needle to an operative position irrespective of its previous engagement by the members engaging the butts 3. At each feeder of a multifeed machine a group of cam members 15 followed by a group of selector cams 20 is provided to enable needle selection to be achieved. |
