The ice storage assembly (17) has a set of narrow cooling tubes (30), bent into a meandering shape and brought into close contact with the ribbed outer surfaces of the large-diameter ice storage tubes (28). The tubes have internal ribs as well as external ones and may be arranged in a stack. They may be filled with a liquid freezing mixture.
