The invention comprises a vitamin composition in the form of a clear solution suitable for injection, which solution may be mixed with vegetable oils or with the feed or drinking water of poultry and farm animals, and which consists of (1) up to 70% by weight of Vitamin A alcohol, Vitamin D or Vitamin E or a mixture thereof, (2) at least 0,5% by weight of a polyethylene glycol ester of a fatty acid having from 16 to 18 carbon atoms or a polyoxyethylenesorbitan ester of a fatty acid having from 16 to 18 carbon atoms as emulsifying agent, (3) from 1,0 to 10% by weight of benzyl alcohol, (4) the remainder consisting of a liquid glyceryl triester of a saturated fatty acid having a carbon chain length of from 6 to 12 atoms or of a mixture of saturated fatty acids, the predominant acids of which have carbon chain lengths of from 6 to 12 atoms, or a mixture of said triesters and, optionally except where Vitamin E is absent, (5) an edible antioxidant. |
