PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplex converter with a redundant configuration for realizing a connection configuration to bypass a faulty board by correctly discriminating even the fault due to the faulty board of a signal receiver side. SOLUTION: This converter is provided with an interface section 20, consisting of an active package 21 and a standby package 22 for a redundant configuration, a multiplexer/demultiplexer section 30 that applies time division multiplexing or demultiplexing to a main signal and consisting of an active package 31 and a standby package 32 for a redundant configuration, a main signal transmission bus 16 that applies bus connection to all the packages, a transmission means that transmits a monitor signal different from each transmission package together with the transmitted main signal, monitor means 33-35 that monitor a monitor signal, and a control means 40 that locates a faulty package, when the monitor means detects a fault and selects corresponding standby package when the fault-located package is an active package.
