PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that reproduces the working surface of machined products and flattens the surface of workpieces. SOLUTION: For reproducing a working surface 18 of a machined product having the working surface 18 and an adjacent subordinate surface 24 both formed from a polymer matrix impregnated with polymer microelements 16 having a plurality of cavity spaces 22, the method of flattening the surface of workpieces places the product into contact with working environment, so that the shells of the polymer microelement 16 that lies about the working surface 18 are at least partly opened and that this polymer microelement 16 becomes less hard than the polymer microelement 16 that is buried in the subordinate surface 24.
