PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferritic stainless steel hot rolled sheet excellent in ridging resistance, to provide a cold rolled sheet and to provide a method for producing them. SOLUTION: This ferritic stainless steel contains by weight, 16 to 20% Cr in which the contents of C, N, Si, Mn, P and S are controlled to optimum amounts, furthermore, contains <=0.008% Al and 0.005 to 0.06% Nb, so as to become an (α+γ) structure at >=850 deg.C and makes N as AlN to <=0.003%. After it is heated at 1,100 to 1,250 deg.C and is hot-rolled to make it into a hot rolled sheet, it is continuously annealed at 850 to 1,000 deg.C and thereafter, is subjected to cold rolling and finish annealing.
