PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating chuck for machining a highly rough surface bore as completely removing cutter marks by providing a wrapper fitted to a tool holder with horizontal rotary motion and vertical oscillating motion in the thrust direction. SOLUTION: With regard to a floating chuck 1 composed of a rotation body 2 including a sustaining part 2a fitted to the main spindle of a machining center and a positioning pin 9 to be inserted in a positioning block on the main spindle end, a rotor 3 for horizontally rotating a tool holder 6 fitted to a wrapper is journalled through a metal bearing 11 and through a return spring 8 in the thrust direction to the end of a rotation body 2 pivoted to a casing 1a through a metal bearing 12, a horizontal draw hole 3a is provided in the intermediate region of the rotation body 2 and the rotor 3 and the end of an actuating claw 5 including an intermediate fulcrum 5a is faced the draw hole 3a, while the base end of the actuating claw 5 is made to come in contact with a bevel cam 14 provided on the outer ring of the metal bearing 12 through a bearing 13. |
