PURPOSE: Polyester containing the ultraviolet absorbing agent is prepared which has a good alkali resistance and solvent resistance. CONSTITUTION: Polyester(formula 1; R1 is hydrogen, halogen or C1- c10 alkyl; R2 is hydrogen or C1 -C10 alkyl; R3 is C1- C10 alkylene; R4 and R5 are C1- C10 alkyl; n= 4- 8; m= 1- 2) is prepared at 100- 220 degree C by the polymerization of alcohols such as 3-(5-chloro-2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-5-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxy-benzene propanol, 3-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-hydroxy-benzene ethanol, or 3-(5-methyl-2H-benzotriazol-2- yl)-5-(1-methylethyl)-4-hydroxy-benzene propanol, and lactones such as eta-caprolactone, trimethyl-eta-caprolactone, monomethyl-eta-caprolactone, gamma-butyrolactone, delta-valerolactone, in the presence of tetraethyl titanate, tetrabutyl titanate, tetrapropyl titanate, organic titanium compound and organic tin compound and halogenated tin compound. |
